ORP, the oxidation-reduction potential, shows whether water is oxidising or reducing, read in millivolts (mV). Every Hintron pH meter with a mV mode reads it directly. An ORP electrode is required and is supplied at extra cost.
Fit an ORP electrode in place of the pH electrode and switch the meter to mV mode.
Read a standard ORP solution of known value to confirm the electrode responds correctly.
Immerse the electrode in the sample and note the mV reading once it is stable.
ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) is read in millivolts. A positive value means the water is oxidising, for example when chlorine or ozone is present; a negative value means it is reducing. It is used to control disinfection and to follow redox reactions in process water and effluent.
Yes. ORP is read with an ORP (redox) electrode, which has a platinum sensor in place of the glass pH bulb. It is not included with the meter and is supplied at extra cost.
ORP needs no buffer calibration. Read a standard ORP solution of known mV value; the reading should match it within the tolerance stated for the solution.
Describe the sample, the range you expect and the quantity. A specialist replies with a recommendation and a quotation, including the ORP electrode.
